It never ceases to amaze me the number of companies who feel it is in their best interest to emulate and often just plain steal ideas from LevelTen. I believe that the term is commonly referred to as plagiarism and it can be seen throughout education and the business world. In education, punishment often includes failed courses, suspension, expulsion and in some cases even legal consequences. In the business world things can be far more severe from fines and lawsuits to possible prison time; needless to say it makes little sense to take someone else’s ideas and attempt to portray them as your own.
One really nice example of plagiarism can be found at calcuttawebdesign.com and another great example of plagiarism can be found at officefield.com. I recently referenced officefield.com in my article Imitation is the Greatest Form of Flattery, and calcuttawebdesign.com has simply taken all of the LevelTen Blog articles and scraped them onto their blog. I was really hoping to leave some comments but curiously their comments are closed; I encourage you to leave us some comments or feel free to make reference to their level of service. Have a look here at how they've spamed a blog to build links.
