Hit
A hit is a statistical term for a requested item from a [[web server]]. While web page hits are mostly focused on, hits can be measured for other types of requests; graphics, CGI request, animations, etc. Web servers log every hit that they receive.
Hit Tips
- Note that every graphic contained in a page creates its own hit.
- While all hits are of technical importance as a measure of load on the server, page hits are of particular importance analyzing user behavior on your site.
