[Kyle] He so this is Kyle and Ahmad, we are with getiFX and LevelTen Interactive in Dallas and we are walking around DrupalCon, we are gonna try and interview some random people and see what they are working on, what they are doing, hey guys can I interview some of you? This is random questions, they are not hard, I swear. SO what we are doing like we are dong a live Periscope, say hi to twitter. Is it OK if I ask you guys some questions? I'll just pass the mike around. So what you do, you gonna say what's your name? What do you do? Where are you from and what 's your favorite thing about DrupaConl LA alright...
[Kevin McConnel] My name is Kevin McConnel, I'm a consultant at Metaltoad Oregon and my favorite thing is CMI, I think.
[Kyle] So Agency Life?
[Kevin McConnel] That's exactly right.
[Kyle] You do any freelancing?
[Kevin McConnel] Yeah.
[Kyle] What's your favorite thing about freelancing?
[Kevin McConnel] Cash probably.
[Kyle] Worst thing about freelancing?
[Kevin McConnel] Not getting cash.
[Kyle] Common problem you, of not getting cash.
[Marcus] I'm Marcus I'm a developer at Metaltoed Portland Oregaon, ah Symphony, backing away from procedural php. -
[Kyle] Did I hit the metaltoad table? its all metaltoad, I feel like I can skip some of these questions (Laughing), OK just keep on moving on.
[Jonathan] Hi I'm Jonathan Architect Metaltoad, being object oriented and intervene the test ability of it.
[Kyle] Have you guys started using Drupal 8
[Jonathan]....
[Kyle] Really then I move over hear, what was your experience about building your Drupal LA website
[Unknown] I don't know, It was like a lot of fun, I mean I like the TTD SN tab of Drupal development, php store, which is you don't really get in previous version, the biggest pain was like cont-ribs died, it was not ready six months ago, its its getting better but action is a little slower than that then they'd,it's like D7 cont-rib experience has really that movement has nearly been quite the same for DrupalLA, we are missing, we are trying to run you know company marketing side, we are missing the basic things like path --, so its fun for a stabilizer glasses. Our marketing team is less thrilled with it, but its cool, its really been worth it and its been a lot of fun.
[Kyle] Do you think the Drupal Learning curve is just a vertical line?
[Unknown] No.
[Kyle] Go straight up, I'm just gonna move around one more, I'm gonna get to the rest of the guys, Lady.
[Jenny] Hi I'm Jenny I'm a developer at Metaltoad.
[Kyle] Front-end or back-end?
[Jenny] A little bit of both, mostly front-end.
[Kyle] IS this mostly here, back in front in guys, little bit little bit of everything. What is the most exiting thing about Drupal 8?
[Jenny] I'm mostly excited about the symphony component library, getting access to that or Contribs.
[Kyle] You think there's gonna be more work in general?
[Jenny] Before I learn it or after you learn it?
[Kyle] Terrible question next one. When do you think its actually going to be released?
[Jenny] Oh, by Barcelona right?
[Kyle] When do you actually think its gonna be released?
[Jenny] I don't have much experience with the Drupal release cycle,so I have no Idea.
[Kyle] We go out of that for now. Last one, What's you name? What you do? What is your favorite thing about Drupal 8?
[Tom] I'm Tom, I'm the Senior development Strategist consultant at Metaltoad and Drupal 8--what I really love about it is I get to come every year to these DrupalCons, Its just like just right round the corner and I just wanna reach out and it just pulls away, It just really makes you wanna touch it even more.
[Kyle] Do you guys have any sessions going on and do Metaltoad putting any sessions this week?
[Tom] Yeah I'm doing a session on Thursday on discovery projects. -
[Kyle] Wanna elaborate on that?
[Tom] We recently had a lot of bigger projects coming in and lot of unknowns large kind of uncertainty, so last year we been working about small discovery projects, kind of define the actual project.
[Kyle] OK that's it for the Metaltoad group, I missed that guy that's eating, that's OK though, that's alright, we talk to you guys later thanks.
