Website Architecture

A website is built using a hierarchy of links leading to pages of higher and lower relative importance. What's called the main navigation are the links to pages within a domain that are considered the most important from a user standpoint. Secondary or sub-navigation is housed under main navigation's links. A website's architecture is structure which must arbitrarily be chosen to funnel users to the specific information he/she seeks. Common high level site architecture includes pages such as About Us, Services, Contact Us, Privacy Policy, and Blog. Sub-navigation may include, blog articles, news releases, executive profiles. Choosing how to organize this information into a system of links is what builds the site architecture.
