Over the years, LevelTen searched far and wide for a content management system that would be scalable enough to run enterprise-class websites, flexible enough to integrate with third-party systems, yet affordable enough to allow smaller, forward thinking businesses to compete without breaking the bank. We started with Word Press, a system we know and can use, but didn't think it offered the flexibility and scalability we often need to give businesses a strategic advantage. We moved on to Silver Stripe, which is a great Object-Oriented CMS, but it was lacking community support and features which lead to increased cost of ownership.
After testing several other content management platforms, and even creating our own, we decided upon Drupal, an open-source, enterprise-class community management system that has incredible documentation, massive community support and several thousand modules that have been tested and verified. Is Drupal secure? Ask the U.S. government; actually, ask 57% of the world's governments, they all use it. So do MTV, Sony, and LevelTen.
Drupal is a completely free, open-source content management system that many intelligent companies are using today to provide for their needs. Drupal's many features and add-ons allow it to be used for a variety of website needs including marketing, internal communications, informational websites, or social networking purposes. If a needed feature is not currently available, Drupal has a proven community of developers who can be paid to do the work for you. Drupal's access control system means that it can be easily applied to your organizational structure. Overall, Drupal is a good choice for today's company of any size because it is free and incredibly flexible.
