The Importance of Web Strategy - Introduction

The Importance of Web Strategy - Introduction

Would you construct a 30-story office building without an engineering report, understanding the zoning requirements, soil type, architectural blueprint, or number of businesses in the area that need office space? Of course you wouldn't.

When deciding to develop and launch a successful online presence, you should remember that 30-story office building, as you will face many of the same challenges during the project. While a client may have a very high-level understanding of the features they would like on their site, there are many details they are not aware of, have not considered, and need assistance with. If your web Design Company has never mentioned the terms Creative Brief, Target Audience, Mood Boards, Competitive Features Analysis, Application Architecture, Framework, or asked about your business plan, you may want to start looking for a new company that has your best interest in mind.

That's where strategy comes in.

Importance of Web Strategy

Web strategy is an often overlooked or underestimated process that can be the difference between a company's Internet success and its failure. It's the process of interviewing company stakeholders, understanding their business goals and competitive advantages, researching market segments, and customizing a plan of action to not only achieve those goals, but to exceed them.

And for those skeptics who think, Yeah right. I know my business better than any strategist and can do it myself. Ask yourself, For every $1 I'm spending on marketing my website, am I making $10 in profit? If not, you may want to call a few of our customers. LevelTen has the success stories to prove it.

Over the next few months I will be discussing some of the processes we use when building successful websites and providing example documents as starting points so when you get ready to build that 30-story office building, you can start with a lot more than a vision and a shovel.
