There's no question that blogging is an effective way to drive traffic to your website, to gain interest and followers, and ultimately to increase revenue. It's a way to create awareness and to build a sense of community with your fans. It's an understood rule that the more you blog, the more traffic you will get. But what should you do when you've run out of ideas for your blog? How can you combat writer's block? Sometimes inspiration lies in the most unlikely of places.
5 Unconventional Sources of Blog Inspiration for Your Business: 1) Be a creep - Ever go to a restaurant or party and see someone staring at people in a way that makes you uncomfortable? Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are engaging in an intense form of people watching that will help them generate inspiration. Human behavior is fascinating, with a healthy mix of predictable and unexpected, and this can translate well to the page. 2) Talk to animals - Animals provide companionship, entertainment and possibly inspiration. Seeing the simplicity with which they live their lives can help us break overwhelming life events down into digestible units and help us gain perspective. Perspective helps us realize what is most important to us and writing about things that matter to you makes for great blogs. 3) Concoct "What if?s" - When you got bored as a child, chances are you and your siblings engaged in make believe. Get the wheels in your head spinning by contemplating random possibilities and their effects on your industry. 4) Go shopping - Retail therapy never hurt anyone. In fact, it's been known to heal all woes. So get out there and explore cutting-edge technology and fashion. The retail industry is constantly reinventing products so consumers won't get bored and will keep spending their hard-earned dollars. Take a cue from the masters and reinvent your blogs. 5) Become one with nature - Sometimes you just have to get out of walls that are boxing you in and go for a walk. Nature can refresh you, relax you and inspire you. When the words on your screen start to blur together, get out into nature and smell the roses, literally.
