SIZE DOES MATTER! And Smaller is Better

We live in a world where we are constantly judged by our possessions; the size of our house, the size of our boat, the length of time to first byte; but lets be honest performance is where it really matters! A few weeks ago we made the move to cloud hosting and Dustin wrote a great post on the difference it's made in performance; however, what he wasn't able to talk about then was how that is affecting our bounce rate. With a dedicated server, many of our site visitors were simply visiting one page on the site then heading on; however since we've improved our speed and performance and decreased our size, they're sticking around for an encore. When I say sticking around, I mean it; we've seen the overall site bounce rate drop by an average of 36%. That tells me that we've got a lot more happy site visitors!
