Pinterest for Professionals

I am all about new ideas that make life a bit easier. For years I have been the girl who collects pages of magazines or stores photos on my iphone of ideas I see and want to do, whether it be for my dream house, my next DIY project or just a fabulous message. I am by far the worst Canton shopper around, I spend the entire time not buying saying “Oh, I love this, I can make this at home!” taking a picture and forgetting about it or losing it a week later! This is where my new friend Pinterest comes in (see previous blog for reference as well)... simply put by the company themselves, Pinterest is a place to catalog the things you love. Brilliant idea! How it works: you sign up and wait for your invitation via email to begin your process. Once you get your invite and log on the magic starts to happen. You can sort through all the things you “love” and pin them onto your specific board for each. Categorizing all the ideas you see and want to do so that you always know where things are. You can also re-pin from other profiles and comment with friends about the specific project or fashion statement. How can this help us when working with clients? Easily! This gives us the ability to not only pin design ideas and different tools we find out there but also allows our clients to better give us a feel of what they love. Imagine having a board where you could constantly see the direction their design desires are headed by the other website fronts the copy and pin to their boards, or the colors they are drawn to by their choice in a mood board profile, etc. It would save hundreds of emails back and forth when a “new idea” is found and give the flexibility for collections to be kept clean and usable from both ends. I am a true fan of technology when it aids in productivity and Pinterest is just that! The ideas and possibilities it can be used for are endless! Sign up , get your invite and start creating today!
